CLC Billing Recovery for Oracle Opera (and OPERA Cloud)
The most common enterprise PMS in luxury and full-service hotels — and a constant source of CLC rate-code drift.
Oracle Opera (and its successor OPERA Cloud) is the most widely deployed enterprise PMS in luxury and full-service hotels. Its strength is reporting depth; its weakness for CLC billing is that it treats every virtual card the same as a consumer Visa or Mastercard. The rate management module is powerful enough to mask CLC discrepancies for months at a time.
CLC quirks specific to Oracle Opera (and OPERA Cloud)
Rate code drift hides in Opera's depth
Opera's BAR-driven rate hierarchy makes it easy for a single corporate rate code to drift away from the CLC contracted rate without anyone noticing. A property that adds a tax line or fee inside Opera will see every CLC stay short-pay by exactly that fee amount until someone reconciles the rate codes back to Corpay's records.
PM (Posting Master) folios swallow incidentals
Opera's PM/PA folio model is flexible — too flexible. Front desk staff who post incidentals to the PM folio instead of moving them to the guest's personal folio will silently overshoot the CheckINN authorization. The transaction either declines or short-pays at settlement, and Opera doesn't surface the cause.
Night audit timing matters more than most properties realize
Opera's batch settlement runs during night audit. If audit slips past midnight on a checkout day, the CLC virtual card has already aged out of its valid window and the charge will hard-decline.

How Reconcile CLC works with Oracle Opera (and OPERA Cloud)
- 1
We pull the Opera CLC reservation report (typically via OBI / OXI export) on a daily cadence.
- 2
Our reconciliation engine cross-references each Opera folio against the Corpay authorization record.
- 3
Discrepancies — short pays, declines, expired-window charges — are flagged within 24 hours.
- 4
Late-charge requests and rate adjustments are filed with Corpay before the recovery window closes.
